Genotypic and phenotypic detection of biofilm production by icaa and icad genes in staphylococcus aureus isolated from tonsillitis

ABSTRACT : The study included genetic study to biofilm production to common bacteria that causes tonsillitis.Atotal of 130
specimens represented by 100 specimens from surface tonsillitis and 30 isolated tissue from core tonsillitis aftertonsillectomy.
Primary identification was depended on Gram stain and biochemical tests. Finally, identification with vitek 2 system was done.
The results demonstrate 45 isolate of them were
Staphylococcus aureus. Genetically, study for some genes encoding biofilm
formation that associated with pathogensity of
S.aureus by using PCR technique. The result indicated Staphylococcus aureus
contain on IcaA, IcaD gene that encoding to slime layer or biofilm formation.
