The Physics Department holds a seminar on assessing the radiation dose of organs for patients undergoing chest examination in Najaf hospitals

The Physics Department at the Faculty of Science at the University of Kufa held a seminar on assessing the radiation dose of organ  for patients undergoing chest x-ray examination in the hospitals of Najaf Governorate.

The seminar  included a lecture given by the master’s student, Mustafa Kazem, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Hussein Abid Ali Bakir.

It included an explanation of the calculation of the absorbed dose of some parts of the body for patients who conduct investigation of the posterior anterior chest position in a number of governorate hospitals and the recording of the physical variables of voltage, current and distance necessary to be entered into the radiation dose calculation program.

The seminar touched on the fact that most of the recorded doses for organs in the body are within acceptable global limits, as they are either less or at the level of the internationally published limits.
