A master’s thesis in the faculty of Science on the environment of animals affecting aquatic plants in the Euphrates River

The Faculty of Science at the University of  Kufa discussed a master’s thesis on the study of the environment of invertebrate animals attached to some aquatic plants in the Euphrates River.

The thesis submitted by the student, Hussein Ali Rida, aimed to determine the spatial and temporal distribution of invertebrates attached to aquatic plants in a section of the Euphrates River in the central region of Iraq.

The thesis included the selection of four sites during two seasons (spring and summer) for the year 2020 to find out how the density of invertebrates adherent to aquatic plants is related to the physical and chemical variables in the Euphrates River and to measure the physical and chemical properties of water.

The thesis concluded that physical and chemical variables affect the distribution of adherent invertebrates, with temporal-spatial differences in the physical and chemical conditions of water associated with changes in the concentration of organic matter and nutrients.
