The Department of Media and Public Relations at the University of Kufa held a symposium entitled "Reducing emissions and optimal use of clean energy&quot

It aims to spread environmental awareness among university circles by
moving towards clean energy and reducing emissions that would increase
environmental pollution.
University President Prof. Dr. Yasser Lafta Hassoun said, “Iraq is among
the countries most affected by climate change and water scarcity in the
coming years, which casts a shadow over all sectors, including the
agricultural sector, and called for the disposal of waste through the
establishment of waste recycling plants, similar to other countries.
The symposium included three lectures, the first for the instructor at the
Faculty of Science, Dr. Muhammad Al-Haidari, entitled “Energy Support
and Reducing Emissions”, the second for the lecturer in the Faculty of
Engineering, Dr. Ali Wadi Abbas, entitled “Clean Energy and Ways to
Support It” and the third for the lecturer at the Faculty of Arts, Halim Al-
Azzam, entitled “The Role of the Media in Spreading Awareness” The
symposium concluded that it is necessary to urge professors, teachers and
students of the outgoing stages to address clean energy in their research
and theses and to demand the transfer of industrial plants from residential
cities to desert areas and to move towards the use of solar and nuclear
energy in generating electric power instead of gas-powered plants.
