Master’s thesis on the treatment of dermatological diseases using the ragweed plant

A master’s thesis in the Department of Environment and Pollution at the Faculty of Science at the University of Kufa discussed the synthesis of silver nanoparticles from ragweed leaf extract and its antifungal activity against Candida albicans.

The thesis, presented by Hani Aqil Abdel Sahib under the supervision of Prof. Nihad Habib Mutlak, aimed to manufacture a water extract from the leaves of the Atriplex nummularia plant in the treatment of skin diseases caused by the fungus Candida albicans isolated from cancer patients at the Oncology Hospital in Najaf, which was diagnosed in several ways.

The results of the thesis reached the efficiency of the extract of russula leaves on the formation of biofilms, the activities of antioxidants, the effect of hemolysis, and the lowest concentration of inhibition in the Candida fungus. Three isolates of fungi isolated from the roots of the rugula were also recorded at the American National Center for Biotechnology (NCBI).
