The Department of Laboratory Investigations in the Faculty of Science held a workshop on how to extract DNA. The workshop aimed to introduce researchers and students to methods of extracting DNA and its importance in pathological analyzes.
The workshop included two lectures by Dr. Muhammad Jassim Muhammad and the lecturer, Taghreed Abdul Karim, about methods of extracting DNA from different cells, such as bacteria cells and others, for the purpose of using it in molecular diagnostic applications for various genetic diseases, and revealing treatment resistance genes by pathogenic bacteria, which is the isolation of the genetic material which is the main step for exploration about that resistance
