On the occasion of the International Day of Francophonie, the Faculty of Science held a seminar on the origins of the French language and its roots in Iraq.
The seminar included a joint lecture by Prof. Dr. Wadih Younes Daham and Assistant Professor Dr. Asmaa Hussein Kazem, which is a journey in the history of the birth and emergence of the French language, beginning with a description of the French geographical and human space, and they also talked about the role of the Latin bishopric of Babylon, which was founded in 1629 in Paris, and the role of the Brotherhood of The Dominicans, the Carmelite Fathers, and the Jesuit Brothers in spreading the French language in Mesopotamia.
