The Faculty of Science holds a symposium on women’s rights in Islam and the Iraqi constitution

 

 

The Women’s Empowerment Unit in the Faculty of Science at the University of Kufa held a scientific symposium entitled (Women’s Rights in Islam and the Iraqi Constitution of 2005.

The symposium aims to stand on women’s rights in Islam, which include their right to life, inheritance, property, marriage, alimony and other rights.

The first axis in the symposium included the interpretation of the noble Quranic verses related to women, while the second axis included an explanation of women’s rights in the Iraqi constitution represented by their right to live without exposure to violence and unfair discrimination, enjoy the highest possible level of mental and physical health, obtain education, possess property, vote, and their right to leadership positions in Iraqi society. The symposium also witnessed the presentation of the names of Iraqi women who had scientific achievements and held important positions in the world.
