A PhD thesis in the Department of Biology investigated the therapeutic effect of gold nanoparticles with their reduction of some biochemical parameters in male rats induced with arthritis.
The thesis submitted by Tamader Hani Hussein, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Alaa El-Din Sobhi Mohsen, aims to synthesize lipid-coated nanomaterials as a treatment for induced arthritis in laboratory rats.
The results of the thesis showed the occurrence of physiological and histological changes in laboratory animals, especially in some biochemical indicators and blood parameters such as the number of white blood cells and the percentage of monocytes and lymphocytes, with changes in liver enzymes.
The thesis recommended the possibility of using a compound of lipid-coated gold nanoparticles as an alternative treatment for the drugs used for arthritis.
