A master’s thesis in the Department of Biology conducted a bacteriological and immunological study on patients with hearts diseases in Najaf Governorate.
The thesis presented by the Sabreen Ghazi Ghazal, under the supervision of Dr. Zahraa Yusef Khudair, aims to isolate and diagnose bacteria and their spread in cardiac catheterization, and to identify virulence and antibiotic resistance genes.
The thesis concluded that Escherichia coli bacteria were obtained from patients with cardiac catheterization, and a phenotypic and genetic study of the most important enzymes produced by these bacteria, and low levels of immunological indicators, Toll-like receptor 2 and Interleukin 8.
