The Department of Laboratory Investigation held a seminar entitled “Studying the Effect of Gene Variation on Some Immunological Indicators in Diabetic Nephropathy Patients in Najaf Governorate.”
The seminar included a lecture given by Assistant Lecturer Mustafa Hamza Hassan, in which he dealt with the study of the genetic variation of some inflammatory immune proteins and their level in the serum of diabetic kidney patients compared to the genetic variation of those proteins in non-diabetic kidney patients.
The seminar concluded that there is an influential role for the immunological indicators included in the study in the development of the disease in diabetic nephropathy compared to patients with renal failure for reasons other than diabetes.
