Master thesis on finding natural antibacterial alternatives isolated from diabetic foot injuries, wounds and burns

 

The Department of Biology discussed a master’s thesis titled ” a biological and medical study of the efficiency of zinc nanoparticles against pathogenic bacteria isolated from diabetic foot, wounds and burns”.

The thesis submitted by MSc student Hussein Ali Abd Reda, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Suad Waheed, it aims to find natural antibacterial alternatives and test the effectiveness of nanoparticles with plant extracts of tannins, cloves and yeast boulardii.

The results of the thesis proved the high efficacy of zinc nanoparticles made from yeast boulardii and extracts of thuja and cloves against the Burkholderia bulbus bacteria that cause ulcers and wounds in diabetic foot patients.
