A doctoral thesis on the genes responsible for the production of pigments in the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa

A doctoral thesis in the Department of Biology examined gene expression for pigments and antibiotic resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria isolated from burn injuries, presented by researcher Istabraq Hassan Badr under the supervision of Professor Dr. Abbas Shaker Jawad.

The thesis aims to investigate the production of pigments in Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria, the genes responsible for their production, and the relationship of these genes to antibiotic resistance and their use in resistance to microorganisms and cancer.

The results of the thesis led to identifying many genes responsible for the production of pigments, obtaining types of pigments produced from local bacterial isolates, and proving the effect of these pigments on a number of types of bacteria and cancer in the laboratory.
