Master’s thesis on the danger of pollutants in soil to human health

 

A master’s thesis in the Department of Environment investigated the evaluation of some potential pollutants hazardous to human health in the soil of Najaf Governorate.

The thesis, presented by MSc student Islam Tahseen Rasoul, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Muhammad Jawad Saleh, aims to determine some standards related to the potential danger of some microscopic organisms and pollutants present in the soil to human health and workers close to some contaminated soil.

The study found high concentrations of the studied elements (cadmium, lead, chromium and nickel) in the soil, and their presence with some harmful microorganisms in the nails, hair and skin in high concentrations.
