A master’s thesis in the Department of Chemistry evaluated the levels of some new indicators measured in Iraqi diabetic patients, by the MSc student Safa Hamid Muhammad, under the supervision of Dr. Muntadhar Muhammad Ali.
The study aims to evaluate the levels of chromogranin, pancreatastatin, and catestatin for type 2 diabetes patients, and the extent of their effect on patients and the complications they cause.
The results showed a significant increase in the percentage of the studied indicators (chromogranin, pancreastatin, and catestatin), which causes a significant increase in the percentage of fat in patients.
The letter recommended measuring fats, sugar, and insulin periodically, reducing body weight, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle to get rid of the complications of the disease.
