The Department of Environment discussed a master’s thesis on evaluating the genotoxicity and oxidative stress of nano-zinc oxide in some plants, presented by MSc student Abdullah Hassan Kazem under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Mithaq Abdul Muslim Gouda.
The study aims to evaluate the toxic effects of using nano-zinc oxide on plants due to its increased use in the environment without knowing the upper and lower limits of use.
The results of the study showed the effect of nano-zinc on genotoxicity at a concentration of 300 mg/L, an increase in protein content at a concentration of 200 mg/L, and antioxidants increased in response to the increase in free radicals.
