Faculty of Sciences holds a scientific symposium on safety procedures in specialized chemical laboratories

The Chemistry Department at the Faculty of Science at the University of Kufa held a scientific symposium entitled “Safety Procedures in Specialized Chemical Laboratories” in the presence of a group of academic staff members, students and researchers.

Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hussein Al-Shujairi, said that the objectives of the symposium are to identify the dangers of chemicals, the most important safety methods, and the prevention of laboratory accidents and how to deal with hazardous chemical wastes and store them safely.

Al-Shujairi added that the symposium dealt with four main axes, the first on the dangers of chemicals given by Dr. Karim Jaber and the second axis on the management of chemical waste given by Dr. Esra Witwit and the third axis on the signs of chemical safety given by Dr. Saif al-Din al-Bayati and the fourth axis on the training of chemical safety for graduate students given by Dr. Hazem Abdul Razzaq
