Faculty of Science at the University of Kufa holds a scientific symposium on the phenomenon of drug proliferation.

In the presence of Dean of the Faculty of Science and a group of professors and students, the Department of  Laboratory Investigations at the Faculty of Science at the University of Kufa held a scientific symposium on the phenomenon of the spread of drugs.  Dr. Saleh Hassoun, scientific assistant to Dean of the Faculty of Science, said that the symposium dealt with three main axes: the effect of the chemical composition of drugs on the human organs for Prof. Hussein Al-Shughairi, the Dean of the faculty, the second axis on the Iraqi laws and legislation in reducing the spread of drugs given by lecturer Alaa Al-Nafakh, and the third axis on the dangers of drug proliferation in Iraq given by Dr.  Rasha Shaker Nema.  Dr. Saleh Hassoun added that the symposium recommended the need to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs and their health, psychological and social matters and to provide treatment centers for addicts in all governorates of Iraq with the adoption of legal measures deterrent drug dealers and drug users.
