The Department of Biology at the Faculty of Science at the University of Kufa organized a scientific symposium entitled “Water Management in Najaf Governorate” with the participation of researchers and specialists.The symposium included lectures by Dr. Hussein Al-Shujairi, Dr. Hassan Ali and Dr. Mohammed Al-Haidari on the identification and treatment of water pollutants and the most important solutions to the water crisis in Iraq, especially in the province of Najaf. The symposium recommended regular measurements for the samples of water in selected areas by specialists and the use of remote sensing systems to develop a map of levels of pollution in the rivers and the preparation of integrated awareness programs to rationalize the use of water and the enactment of deterrent laws to prevent water pollution.
