Instructions for the work structure of the faculty member No. (72) for the year 1993.
 
Article 1:
First: The number of theoretical and practical hours for a faculty member who is an assistant teacher or above shall be at a minimum of one quorum per week, as prescribed for the minimum academic grade.
Second: The faculty member covered by clause (1) of this article shall teach the theoretical hours within the quorum and complete the remaining hours of the course as practical hours.
Third: The quorum of the teaching staff member in theoretical and practical teaching hours per week shall be according to the following minimum limits:
A – Professor or Associate Professor (8) teaching hours.
B – Assistant  Professor (10) teaching hours.
C – Teacher (12) teaching hours.
D – Assistant teacher (14) teaching hours.
Fourth: Two hours of quorum shall be deducted from the minimum number of teaching hours per faculty member over the age of 50.
Article 2:
The theoretical and practical hours of the full-time faculty member are calculated according to the following principles:

First: The faculty member shall be dedicated according to the real need at the recommendation of the College Council, the Institute, the University Council, the Council of the Technical Institutes Authority, and the approval of the Minister or his representative from the heads of universities or the head of the Technical Institutes authority.

Second: The minimum theoretical subjects taught by a faculty member with the rank of assistant teacher and above shall be one subject in his/her specialization and three theoretical subjects as a maximum of the maximum necessity determined by the College Council or the Institute at the suggestion of the head of the department or the scientific branch.
Third:  the theoretical hours are completed first and then the practical hours.
Fourth: The work of a faculty member may be restricted to the teaching or supervising postgraduate studies.
Fifth: The teaching of every hour in postgraduate studies is calculated two theoretical hours.
Sixth: the supervision of the thesis of each graduate student is calculated at two theoretical hours per week for the master and four theoretical hours per doctorate per week. The supervision hours for the teachers during the summer holidays continue to be considered as additional lectures.
Seventh: The teaching of every three practical hours is calculated as a one theoretical hour for a faculty member whose rank is a teacher and above in the case of assistant teachers in the laboratory. In the case of the absence of the assistant teacher in the laboratory, the faculty member of the rank of assistant teacher and above must attend the laboratory for the whole period of the laboratory and then calculate the hours spent on it on the basis of considering each practical hour as a theoretical hour process.
Eighth: The project in the undergraduate study calculates as one theoretical hour at a time for each project, while the projects supervised by the faculty’s course coordinator as five times theoretical.
Article: 3
First – do not increase the number of doctoral theses supervised by a faculty member at the same time on the two letters.
Second: the number of master’s thesis supervised by the faculty member should not exceed three theses.
Third: For the maximum necessity at  a decision of the College Council, the number of theses provided for in sub-sections (I) and (II) of this Article may be increased to three theses of PhD and four theses of Master and no more than two in the case of joint supervision of five theses.
Fourth: The number of theses of higher professional diploma supervised by the faculty member should not exceed four letters and for the most urgent necessity and by a decision of the University Council, it may be increased to five theses.
Fifth. No more than seven individual or joint theses may be supervised.
Article: 4
First: The President of the University or the Chairman of a Technical Institute may, upon the requirements of the public interest, appoint a faculty member to duties related to all scientific, educational and administrative activities and to exempt him from part of the hours of his appointment.
Second: The College Council or the Institute may, upon the proposal of the Council of the Department, exempt the faculty member from part of the hours of his/her appointment, provided that he does not exceed one-third of his/her quorum if he/she is assigned duties related to the development of the educational, educational and administrative process provided that should be done at the beginning of each term/year.
Article 5:
First: Department or branch in light of the indicators established by the Council of the University or the Council of the Commission, the hours devoted to a faculty member to fulfill the duties stipulated in Articles 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Article (1) Of the University Service Law within or outside the University or the commission, provided that the number of hours remaining of the hours prescribed in the Law shall not be less than the satisfaction of the faculty member of his duties stipulated in the said items.
Second: The hours of work in specialized centers or consulting offices of the Ministry shall be calculated no more than (8) hours per week for the purpose of meeting the specified hours.
Third: The library hours are determined according to the subjects and the total number of students which the faculty member teaches in undergraduate and graduate studies, provided that the office hours shall not exceed 8 hours per week.
Fourth: The hours of educational guidance shall be calculated for those who are assigned by faculty members from the College Council or the Institute not exceeding (4) hours per week.
Fifth: The hours of scientific research for a faculty member shall be determined at least (8) hours per week.
Sixth: The hours stipulated in this Article shall not be counted in the quorum or lectures of the faculty member.
Article 6:
The person who assigned  administrative roles or the assigned members of the teaching staff mentioned in this article shall teach the minimum number of hours:
First: The quorum of the Dean, the vice President and the Head of the Department at the University of Technology, is two hours a week, including one theoretical subject.
Second: The quorum of the head of department and the assistant dean and directors (4) hours per week, including one theoretical subject.
Article 7:
First: The work of the faculty member in the faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and veterinary medicine shall be as follows:
  1. The clinical teaching work shall be mainly in the teaching hospital or in the dental college where it is considered as an educational hospital, and the staff shall give their theoretical lectures in the college and perform its other duties assigned to them according to a schedule declared by the hospital administration, the head of the branch and the Deanship. The clinical teaching is complete when performing a number of hours not less than (40) hours and not more than (45) hours.
B – The total number of students for training in clinical and applied lessons ten students per teaching.
C – The hours of practical work, clinical and training equal to the theoretical hours except non-medical subjects, as is the case in other colleges.
Second: The working hours of faculty members working in medical, dentistry and veterinary faculties, other than doctors who study basic medical sciences, shall be calculated at one practical hour with one theoretical hour if the laboratory has only one assistant teacher or research assistant. He/she worked in his/her laboratory in the laboratory more than an assistant teacher or assistant researcher.
Third: The part-time teaching of doctors, dentists and pharmacists shall teach the minimum number of hours assigned by a member of the full-time equivalent university service to a scientific rank, provided that his weekly work (35) hours shall be distributed according to the requirements of the faculty.
Article 8:
The part-time faculty member shall teach the quorum for his academic degree, provided that his weekly work is 30 hours.
(Article 9)
The work structure of a part-time faculty member is similar to that of a full-time employee, provided that the number of working hours is not less than (35) hours per week.
 
 
Article 10:
The tables of theoretical and practical lessons prepared in such a way as to ensure the optimum utilization of the facilities of the faculty or institute of lecture halls, laboratories and technical workshops.
Article 11:
The Minister or the person entitled to decide to devote faculty members to work in scientific research centers for the purposes of scientific research.
Article 12:
First: Priority is given to faculty members who are full-time in the formation of branch councils and the boards of the faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and nursing.
Second: Priority is given in the scientific courses of the full-time university staff of doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nursing and veterinary medicine.
Third: A part-time University staff member may practice his profession outside his official term and retain his academic salary.
Article 13:
The provisions of Articles 10, 6, 5, 3, 2 and 1 of these Instructions shall apply to full-time faculty members of the faculties of Medicine and Dentistry of these Instructions.
Article 14:
The instructions of the work structure of the faculty member are hereby repealed by the letter of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research No. 92/8/450.
Article (15): These instructions shall be implemented from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

Instructions
No. (109) for the year 1997
The first amendment to the instructions of the work structure of the faculty member No. (72)  for the year 1993
Article : 1
Item No (5) of Article (2) of the instructions of the work structure of the faculty member No. (72) for the year 1993 is hereby repealed and replaced by the following: –
Fifth:
1 – The wages of teaching each hour in postgraduate studies two theoretical hours.
2 – The wages of teaching each hour in postgraduate studies for doctoral students in mathematics three times the prescribed wages for the lecturer and double for the master’s students in mathematics.
C) The hours of teaching each hour in computing computers shall be calculated twice the prescribed hours of the lecture.
Article: 2
Item (6) of Article (2) of the Instructions (1) shall be as follows:
3- Calculate the supervision fees on the thesis of each PhD student in mathematics three times the fees prescribed for the lecturer, and double for the supervision of the master’s thesis in mathematics, and continues to calculate the supervision hours for teachers during the summer vacation as additional lectures.

The second amendment to the instructions of the work structure of the faculty member No. (72) for the year 1993.
Article: 1
Items No (7) and (8) of Article (2) of the Staff Structure Instructions No. (72) for the year 1993 shall be repealed and replaced by the following:
Seventh: Calculate the teaching of each hour of practical or applied, field or teaching or discussion one hour.
Eighth: Supervision of each of the graduate research projects in the undergraduate study shall be considered two theoretical hours, provided that the number of projects does not exceed four (4).
Article: 3
Items No (1) and (2) of article (4) of the Instructions shall be repealed and replaced by the following provisions:
First: The President of the University may, on the basis of the requirements of the public interest, assign a faculty member to duties related to all scientific, educational and administrative activities and shall be entitled to additional hours not exceeding two-thirds of the quorum per week.
Second: The Faculty Council may grant additional hours not exceeding half a quorum per week for a faculty member if he/she is assigned duties related to the development of the educational, educational or administrative process, at the beginning of each academic year or semester.
Article: 4
The following shall be added to Article (4) of the Instructions. Items (III) and (IV) shall be:
Thirdly, the quorum of coordinator  of  the department shall be reduced to four hours per week.
Fourth: The Faculty Council may reduce the quorum of postgraduate coordinator to no more than four (4) hours per week.

Article 5:
Paragraph (a) of item (6) of Article (2) of the Instructions shall be repealed and replaced with the following:
A-The supervision of the thesis of each graduate student is calculated as two theoretical hours per week for the higher diploma, four theoretical hours per week for the master and six theoretical hours per doctorate per week, provided that the hours of supervision for the purposes of disbursement are calculated on the basis of the postgraduate hours.
